The activities described here under are to give an idea of what you could do here.
Not with standing the wide range of choices, we noticed with pleasure, that guests
sometimes simply choose to stay around here because they like it so much.
They enjoy the large garden, take a sunbath, swim in the pool, play some games
or read a book and in the evening pull open a bottle of wine and start a barbecue.

Valpiana, Londa
Valpiana, is ideal for lovers of nature: walkers, joggers, cyclists, etc. can indulge
in our green clean environment of the Foreste Casentinesi National Park.
Swimming is of course possible in the private pool and in natural water like all
kinds of streams or the beautiful big lake Bilancino. Some of our guests like
to take even a trip to the Tuscan Coast. 

The nearest village, 1.5 km bird flight, 3 km drive, is Londa. Here are the shops
for all your supplies and several playgrounds, two lakes and good restaurants.
Our guests will find information and tips about things to do and trips in the house.
For example markets, museums, summer concerts and a list of restaurants
recommended by us.

Valpiana is centrally located among beautiful Tuscan regions like Mugello,
Casentino and Montagna Fiorentina.

*   North is the rolling hilly Mugello. This region is famous for its Etruscan history.
It offers picturesque places as Borgo San Lorenzo, Vicchio and Scarperia.
In the Mugello area is lake ' Bilancino ' and who doesn’t know the motor circuit
of Barberino? Here you'll find as well the large Barberino Outlet Village with Italian
cloth designers. Nearby Dicomano is the wellknown Forteto shop with a playground
and a wide range of delicious fresh local products: cheeses, breads and cakes,
sausages etc..

* East of Valpiana is the Casentino region with its medieval villages like Stia,
Poppi with an ancient Castle and the atmospheric Arezzo with its churches
and impressive cathedral. The Casentino area has a rich religious history with
great monasteries like La Verna and Camaldoli, certainly worth a visit.

* In the South-Western direction we find the Montagna Fiorentina with places
like Pontassieve and Rufina. This region is famous for the production of high
quality olive oil and wine ‘the Chianti Rufina’.

* In the same direction is an other very populair Italian clothing outlet 'The Mall’.

* If you want to go to a beautifull activity park with your family you can visit 
'Villa Demidoff' in Pratolino. As well on the north side of Florence you will find
in Fiesole a natural adventure park: 'Parco avventura Vincigliata'.


City trips
35 kilometers south west is the world famous city of Florence, known for its Museums,
Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio, Michelangelo's David, the Medici family, etc., Other beautiful
Tuscan cities that are with in easy reach are: Siena 105 km, San Gimignano 85 km, Lucca
115 km , Pisa 130 km, Arezzo 80 km. Other beautiful places to visit are Cortona, Anghiari,
Montepulciano and the Chianti Classico region.
